About Mandir: Famed for being a Siddhi Peeth, the Chandi Devi Temple takes you in its welcoming folds and is believed to fulfill wishes of all. Dedicated to the goddess of power, Chandi, this temple is located about 10 km from the main city of Chandigarh on the Chandigarh – Kalka Road. Being situated within cantonment (military) zone, visiting the temple may require permission to enter the area. Permission can be attained from the military outpost right where the cantonment area begins.
You would need to trek a small distance to visit this shrine, as cars are not allowed beyond a certain point. Visit this temple during the festivities of Navratri in October – November and you’ll feel the enthusiasm and excitement pulsating in the atmosphere. This is also the time that the temple is most crowded.
