Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Lived In Bulletproof House

CHANDIGARH: Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who was one of the few persons in the country with Z-plus category security cover, had even made his residence ‘Tera Vas” bulletproof. The sanitization of his three-storey house in Sirsa has found that the doors and windows of his residence were bulletproof and all the luxuries of a king. His dressing room had 29 large wooden racks, each 14 feet high, to keep the items. The fully air-conditioned residence was full of expensive vases, large TV screens and other luxury products.

According to the report, prepared on the Punjab and Haryana high court orders, recoveries from premises include imported drinking water, massage oil, perfumes, cosmetic products, hundreds of pair of shoes, hats, caps, and a large quantity of designer dresses. For the purpose of search, the residence was categorised as “sector 3” and a police team led by Bhiwani superintendent of police (SP) Surinder Singh Bhoria had even found a bullet proof Lexus (DL8CAB-4587), two briefcases with 56 hard discs, six projectors containing hard discs, pen drives and a walkie-talkie set.

The palatial residence of the dera chief, who is now lodged in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail+ after his conviction for raping ‘sadhvis’ (female disciples), also has large studios, dressing rooms, museums and meeting rooms.

The team did not find any explosive or objectionable items at the residence+ . However, a covered passage was found on the first floor, connecting the dera chief’s room to that of a sevadar/servant room. The room had a window concealed behind a wooden almirah. “It made a common wall between the room and the premises of sadhvis’ hostel located on the western side of ‘Tera Vas’. The department concerned may verify the possibility of existence of an earlier passage leading from the dera chief’s residence to the sadhvis’ hostel,” a member of the search team said.

The first floor also had a garden and a tunnel adjacent to the boundary wall connected with a green metallic sheet. “Both ends of the tunnel were filled with mud. Its purpose is still not known opinion of the civil engineering department may be sought on it,” the search team members observed.
