About Mandir: Utkal Sanskrutik Sangh is a cultural organisastion and Neelachal Trust is a chariatable trust located in Chandigarh. Both are committed to spread the Jagannath Culture and propagate Lord Jagannath’s glory particularly in Chandigarh and adjacent areas. Cultural programmes are organized time to time for these purpose. Bhumi Pujan of the temple was held on the day of Holi in the year 1982. Then after the construction works of the temple started. The first world famous rath yatra started in the year 1995. The temple is located in the defence area ( Sector-31 D). A formal no objection certificate was obtained from the defence authority to construct the temple complex. Many defence and civil dignitaries involved to construct the temple complex. Now the Jagannath Temple is in the map of Chandigarh administration.
